Position:          Director of Business Development
Organization:  Government of Israel Economic Mission
Location:         Chicago, IL

The Government of Israel Economic Mission seeks an intelligent, enthusiastic candidate to work closely with the Israeli Consul for Economic Affairs to the Midwest. This is an excellent opportunity to work with professional and corporate leaders in international trade, business development, and technology.

The Economic Mission is responsible for initiating and maintaining trade relationships between Israel and the Midwest. The main objectives of the economic mission are promoting investment in Israel, encouraging Israeli exports to the Midwestern states, exploring joint ventures between American and Israeli companies, and advancing opportunities for cooperation in commercial R&D.


Responsibilities will include:

Assisting Israeli exporters with finding the resources (financial, strategic, etc.) needed to compete in the American market

Identifying potential partnerships between Israeli and American companies, especially in the high tech industries

Working with other organizations, associations, and government offices to plan and oversee trade missions to and from Israel

Promoting Israeli industry to the Midwest business community

Building a network of professionals to help support Israeli trade

Event planning

Budget management and other administrative tasks are a part of the responsibilities


Qualifications:

4 or more years of work experience.

Sales experience and international business experience a plus.

Familiarity with Israel’s economy

All degrees and work experience will be considered.

A background in business, marketing or economics is a plus

Exceptional English writing and communication skills

Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, intense work environment

The ability to speak Hebrew is a plus, but not necessary.
